When you meet Heather Kish today, it’s easy to see the passion she has for helping others navigate their fertility journeys. As a fertility coach, she blends her knowledge of nutrition, hormone health, and reproductive wellness with deep empathy for her clients’ struggles. But her path to this work—and to motherhood—was far from straightforward.
A Winding Road through Fertility
Before becoming a coach, Heather’s career included decades in retail and a significant stint in IT security. But behind the scenes, she was managing health challenges, including fibroids that caused severe pain, migraines, and irregular cycles. Surgery brought some relief, but it was only the beginning of her fertility journey.

Over the course of several years, Heather experienced four miscarriages—each one around the ninth to tenth week of pregnancy. Testing revealed no fibroid recurrence, no uterine abnormalities, and no issues with her partner’s fertility. The losses remained unexplained, leaving Heather feeling ashamed and alone.
“I only told five people,” she recalls. “They were my rock. But I didn’t share publicly or join a group. Everyone needs a different kind of support, and for me, it was keeping it close.”
The Turning Point: Genetic Testing
When conventional testing failed to provide answers, Heather’s care team suggested IVF with pre-genetic testing. This process revealed chromosomal abnormalities in all but one embryo—a finding that likely explained her recurrent losses.
The medical team advised freezing the embryo and taking a break to lower stress. In February 2019, Heather underwent a frozen transfer, resulting in a healthy pregnancy and, later that year, the birth of her daughter.
Pregnancy and Birth
After the anxiety of the first trimester, Heather’s pregnancy was smooth and symptom-free. She continued acupuncture, practiced self-care, and focused on staying grounded. Her daughter arrived slightly early via C-section after Heather’s water broke unexpectedly during a check-up. “She made a grand entrance,” Heather laughs.
Though breastfeeding presented challenges, Heather looks back on those early days with gratitude—especially for the skin-to-skin time she was able to have immediately after delivery.
From Patient to Coach
Heather’s journey inspired her to help others facing similar challenges. Her approach emphasizes self-advocacy, reminding clients that while medical teams excel at facilitating conception, they often can’t address every underlying factor.
“I believe in working with your doctors, but also in exploring other tools—nutrition, acupuncture, stress management—that can support your body,” she explains. “There’s no one-size-fits-all path to fertility.”

Heather’s Message for Others
To those in the midst of their own fertility struggles, Heather offers two key pieces of advice:
Find the support system that works for you. This could be a private circle or a larger community, but it should make you feel safe and understood.
Don’t accept your diagnosis as the final word. Unless there’s a definitive medical reason, there’s often room to explore what your body needs to support conception.
Her story is one of persistence, adaptability, and hope—proof that even in the face of repeated loss, the right combination of care, advocacy, and resilience can lead to the family you dream of.
